Floral display makers in Vancouver will be doing more than just decking the halls with boughs of holly this year.
They'll be decking downtown streets with boughs, branches, and flowers of all sorts.
From Dec. 6 to 15, Fleurs de Villes will have 30 unique festive floral features around the city's downtown, from Robson and Bute to Seymour and Cordova.
This year's installations are based around the theme of music and include an "Enchanted" Taylor Swift tribute, among others.
"New this year are holiday music-inspired floral mannequins, including Vancouver’s own Michael Bublé, plus Wham! and Mariah Carey at Pacific Centre. These installations will have signs with lyrics of the songs they represent to enhance the experience," reads a press release from Fleurs de Villes.
Many of the displays will be based along Robson; the Robson Street BIA is involved in the event. Along the well-known shopping street there will be a "Candy Cane Lane" Sia mannequin, a Christmas tree "farm" (also a Swift song) and a giant snowflake.
At the Hyatt Regency, there will be a holiday swing and floral fountains will be set up at the Bentall Centre.
Four local cafes will also be participating with Nutcracker-themed entrances: Caffe Artigiano, Bellaggio Café, Faubourg Paris, and JJ Bean on Hornby.
Fleurs de Villes has a downloadable map on its website and created a route for people to follow if they want to see all the displays on a walk around Vancouver.
