Canadian rock legend, inspiration, true Canadian, Gord Downie has passed away. He was 53.

Diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last year, the country watched as Downie spent his final days raising awareness around indigenous issues. He will be dearly missed.
His family released the following statement on Twitter.
