What's the deal with comedians who were big in the 90s coming to Vancouver?
Just a couple of weeks after Adam Sandler announced he'd be launching a new tour in Vancouver, Jerry Seinfeld has announced three shows at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. He'll be taking the stage just after New Years on Jan 5 and 6, 2024.
While he's doing plenty of shows right now, the trip to B.C. doesn't appear to be a part of a tour, as his show before Vancouver is Dec. 16 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and after Vancouver he'll perform in Florida on Jan. 27. His only other Canadian date right now is at a casino in Rama, Ontario, north of Toronto.
Seinfeld is best known for his eponymous 90s sitcom which ran for 10 seasons and often featured bits of his own stand-up comedy. More recently he hosted the interview series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in which Seinfeld drove cars with comedians to get coffee. He also once voiced a bee in a video game based on the Bee Movie, an animated film he wrote and co-produced about a bee trying to sue humans.
Tickets are available now through a Just For Laughs presale. They'll open up to the general public on Oct. 2. Tickets will range from $99 to $800 according to Ticketmaster's website.
