John Legend will bring a warm embrace to Vancouver this winter with his heavenly honey-glazed voice.
The 46-year-old multi-platinum recording artist announced a new global tour Tuesday, March 18, that'll celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first-ever headlining concert series.
The "Get Lifted 20th Anniversary World Tour" will visit Rogers Arena on Dec. 3, 2025.
It's the fourth-last stop on the seven-month endeavour and only one of two in all of Canada; Montreal is the other on Nov. 14.
The original Get Lifted tour took place in 2005 following the release of Legend's debut album of the same name, which won three Grammy Awards including Best New Artist.
Legend performed in Vancouver in 2021 for his "An Evening with John Legend" tour. This was rescheduled from September 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He will be backed by a full band while on the 20th anniversary tour, showcasing a set list of "fresh renditions" and remixed versions of Get Lifted tracks like "Ordinary People," "Used to Love U," "Number One" and "So High."
"In addition to honouring Get Lifted, the live show will feature Legend’s other career-spanning hits, showcasing the musical depth and storytelling that have been hallmarks of his artistry for the past two decades," explained a news release from Live Nation Canada about the tour.
The "All of Me" singer, husband of model Chrissy Teigen and father of four, is an EGOT holder; he has three Emmys, 13 Grammys, one Oscar ("Glory" from Selma in 2014) and one Tony.
Before going solo, Legend once served as a backup singer for Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. His career took off after signing as an artist with Kanye West's GOOD Music.
Get Lifted helped set up an iconic career that includes 10 albums. He's also currently a coach on season 27 of NBC's The Voice alongside Canadian crooner Michael Buble.
Tickets for the North American leg of Legend's upcoming tour will be up for pre-sale next Wednesday, March 26; general sales start Friday, March 28.
