Vancouver is about to become a shimmering wonderland, and we won't have to wait until the Christmas holidays to experience the twinkling spectacle.
Lumière Festival will dazzle the city with glowing installations, pop-up performances, and neighbourhood parades.
From Nov. 17 to 27, the luminous event will radiate through Vancouver's downtown, Yaletown, West End, and Gastown neighbourhoods, bringing with it over 55 local artists.
Pop-up performances
The free family-friendly event will see pop-up performances on each night of the festival, except on Nov. 21 and 22, that will run from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Performances will travel around the city to a new location each night, starting at the Vancouver Art Gallery and trailing through the West End to downtown, Gastown, and ending in Yaletown.

Dream Beacons
Glimmering light installations, named "Dream Beacons," will light up every night of the festival. Among them once stood a towering 12-foot-tall beaver.
This year's theme, titled "Dream the Future," aims to redefine winter as a month of inspiration and connection by intertwining elements of light, art and storytelling.
