One of the scariest spooky season events in the Lower Mainland opens in late September.

Maan Farms' hugely popular haunted maze swallows scare-seekers into a winding journey through towering walls of corn with chainsaw-wielding creatures chasing you with meaning fury.

The five-acre scare-fest has been re-imagined this year (as it is each year) and continues the Agatha’s Unseen saga. Agatha's dark presence rises above the corn stalks and haunted houses, casting her eerie spell and "unleashing unprecedented rage."

Each of the three attractions has been renamed in the spirit of Agatha: The Kept at the Slaughterhouse, Forsaken at The Way Down, and Echo at Homestead.

The Kept at the Slaughterhouse

Inspired by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Maan Farms has added interactive elements to its "Scariest Corn Maze in Canada," and increased the height of the corn stalks to create a sense of feeling fully engulfed within the walls.

"Agatha’s spirit has the rows feeling alive as the spirits of darkness watch and approach everyone they encounter," reads the attraction's description.

Forsaken at The Way Down

The second attraction takes human fears to "terrifying new levels" by bringing guests up close and personal with their phobias. From arachnophobia (fear of spiders) to coulrophobia (fear of clowns) to autophobia (fear of being alone), this "touch haunt blurs the lines of reality and nightmare."

Guests can say the safe word "chicken" to stop the interactions if they get too scared.

Echo at Homestead

Echo takes visitors inside a haunted house that becomes a living entity "from the malevolent force of darkness, distorting perception."

Maan Farms says it has redesigned the haunted house with elements imported from around the world, "including illusions that will have guests feeling as though they have escaped into another dimension."

The haunt only allows a limited number of groups to enter each night to ensure an engaging experience.

Maan Farms eats and drinks

Before or after the scary attracts, guests can fuel up with freshly popped kettle corn and infused apple and pumpkin dishes including Double Pumpkin Spice Cream, Double Apple Spice Cream, apple cider slushies, spice mini donuts, caramel apples, apple pie tacos, and field-to-plate pumpkin pies and festive beverages.

Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen also features wines, highlighting Mad Pumpkin and Mad Apple spice wines and wine blood bags; and a savoury menu with a new pizza line-up serving classic favourites as well as new pumpkin pizzas.

Guests can also enjoy Maan's popular butter chicken poutine, butter chicken naan tacos, butter chicken rice bowls, chickpea curry naan tacos, chickpea rice bowls, and samosas.
