Aunty Donna is coming to Vancouver. The comedians behind the Big Ol' House of Fun (which has 100 per cent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes) on Netflix and other shows has booked a date in Vancouver as part of their "Magical Dead Cat Tour."
"I the Magical Dead Cat have once again put the Aunty Donna boys to the test and have asked them to travel to the faraway lands of USA, Canada, UK & Ireland to perform their wonderfully riotous sketch comedy to the citizens of these countries," states the group's site, and potentially a mystical deceased feline.
Fronted by the trio of Mark Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane, Aunty Donna mixes sketch comedy, absurdist humour, and songs into their shows. Along with the performers, there's a trio behind-the-scenes writing, directing, and composing.
They've been compared to Tim and Eric and Monty Python in their style and execution, with skits like Ed Helms, Stray Man, and Family Feud. There are also songs like Morning Brown and Everything's a Drum.
The tour swings through Vancouver on Friday, Oct. 20, when they set up in the Vogue Theatre. Doors will be at 7 p.m.
Presale tickets went on sale on March 21 and range from $42 to $84, plus fees.
