A popular Netflix show starring Katherine Heigl will film a car crash scene and driving scenes in Metro Vancouver.
In early October, locals shared images of American actress Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up, The Ugly Truth) and Canadian actress Sarah Chalke (Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother) filming the show outside of the Vancouver Club.
Firefly Lane is about two best friends who are always there for each other with an "unbreakable bond that carries them from their teens to their 40s," according to Netflix.
Now, a resident notification letter from production company FFL S2 Productions Inc states that filming for the show will take place on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 in Surrey.
Filming for the crash scene will take place at the intersection of 150A at University Dr. in the evening on Nov. 19. A car will be travelling southbound on University Dr. when it hits a car travelling eastbound on 150A. After the crash is filmed, the scenes showing the aftermath of the crash will be filmed in the intersection that will include police, ambulance lights, and sirens.
Driving scenes will be completed on 150A between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m on Nov. 20.
For safety, the intersection will be closed to the public from 7 a.m. on Nov. 19 to 7 a.m. on Nov. 20.
