Vancouver's famed Dude Chilling Park (technically Guelph Park) will be the site of a free one-day festival this summer.

The aptly titled Chillin' in the Park Music and Beer Free Festival is a bit long, but organizers promise it'll deliver on the name.

"This family-friendly and community-focused event will feature a lineup of local Vancouver indie bands and musicians," states the Mount Pleasant BIA (MPBIA) in a press release.

Among those playing will be the twin duo Fionn, pop-rockers Farhavern and quartet The Lunchtime Band.

Along with the music, the July 27 event will feature local breweries like Main Street Brewing and Brassneck, along with a BBQ hosted by The Pleasant.

"The festival is designed to be an inclusive event for all ages, making it the perfect outing for families, friends, and neighbours to enjoy together," writes the MPBIA.

The event will run from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase.
