Vancouver Canucks fans were wowed by a rare celebrity appearance at Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night (May 20).
Hollywood funnyman Owen Wilson donned his trademark Cheshire cat grin (and a Canucks jersey) for the camera at Rogers Arena during a tense final game in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Wedding Crashers star is in Vancouver filming a new Apple TV golf comedy about an ex-professional golfer who gets fired from his job and "hedges his bets entirely on troubled 17-year-old golf phenom," according to Hollywood North Buzz.
North Shore Studios is expected to commence filming on May 29 in Vancouver and continue through the summer.
The Vancouver Canucks shared an image of the actor in the crowd on Instagram, writing, "Wow!! Owen Wilson is in the building!"
Wilson said "Wow!" in his feature film debut, Bottle Rocket, and the phrase has been associated with the funnyman ever since.
