Were you the brightest star at the old Stardust Roller Rink in North Vancouver?
This Friday will be your chance to shine again as Shipyards Commons will be turned into a Pop Up Roller Rink for a Halloween-themed costume skate party open to the public.
Hosts Rollerskate Vancouver and the Rolla Skate Club will get the good times rolling Nov. 1 at the North Vancouver Shipyards with two skate sessions, an early round from 5 to 7 p.m. and a late skate from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
“This huge new venue is perfect for us,” said organizer Andrea Fraser-Winsby in a release. “Affordable, accessible venues are few and far between in this city, so Lower Mainland roller skaters are so thankful to be able to do what we love in this beautiful space."
All ages are welcome at both shifts, with admission at $15 per shift. Roller skate rentals are also available, $2 for the early skate or $10 for the late skate. Attendees are encouraged to resurrect their Halloween costumes from the night before.
This will be the second Pop Up Roller Rink held at the Shipyards following an event attended by more than 300 skaters on Oct. 5.
