Have you ever performed a song with comedian Patton Oswalt?
Odds are no, but that could soon change. The stand-up star is joining up with Toronto's Choir! Choir! Choir! for a special show this month in Vancouver.
Choir! Choir! Choir! are a unique act, as instead of performing for their fans, they get their fans to perform with them. Singing popular covers with just an acoustic guitar, the duo of Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman turn pop and rock songs into epic, yet folksy, choral covers.
When people arrive at the show, they're given a lyric sheet and over the course of the night, one song is taught to the group. It all ends with a massive rendition of that song.
They tend not to repeat songs, either. This time the show will culminate in a performance of Beck's "New Pollution" off his massive Odelay album; the last time they did it was 2014. Choir! Choir! Choir! then shares the performance online.
"A living legend of comedy, the incredible Patton Oswalt will be gracing us with his presence and obviously supreme vocal chops to create an epic version of
Beck's 'The New Pollution'!! WTF?" writes Choir! Choir! Choir on Facebook.
The Vancouver show will happen Feb. 24 (the night before Oswalt takes the stage as part of Just For Laughs) at the Harbour Events Centre. Doors are at 6:30 p.m. and the show runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
When: Feb. 24, 7–9 p.m.
Where: Harbour Event & Convention Centre - 760 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver
