Stanley Park Ghost Train set to make spook-tacular return for Halloween 2024

All aboard, the beloved seasonal tradition is making a comeback!

After a five-year pause, the Stanley Park Ghost Train will scare up some fun this October in Vancouver.

After consecutive years of collective disappointment, the Stanley Park Ghost Train is back on track for Halloween 2024 and rides on the cherished miniature railway are set to roll out starting October 10.

While technical issues kept the iconic train from running for the past two years, it was coyotes in the park that derailed plans for the train to run in 2021, and the pandemic that put the brakes on the themed fun in 2020, making this Halloween the first time the Ghost Train will run in five years.

This year's theme is "Ghosts in the Graveyard," and riders can expect to experience "supernatural surprises and spectacularly spooky sights" while journeying through the haunted terrain.

As always, the train plaza will feature all sorts of family-friendly fun, including crafts, food vendors, Halloween decorations, and lots of photo ops.

Matinee Ghost Train rides will feature a fright-free experience without theatrical performances, ideal for younger riders.

Tickets to the Stanley Park Ghost Train will go on sale on Wednesday, September 25 at noon and are only available to purchase online. The ticketing will be done via a queue, and access to the lobby online will open at 11:30 a.m. on the 25th; anyone logging on will be assigned a random queue number to make their purchase.

There is a limit of six tickets per transaction, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Train riders must book for a specific time slot and arrive 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled time. The train will run rain or shine, and attendants cannot guarantee they can accommodate seating large groups together, particularly if not all party members are in line together at the station and on time.

Tickets are priced at $11 for matinee rides (all riders age 3 and up), and $14 for children ages 3-12 for evening rides and $17 for anyone 13 and up. Children 2 and under ride for free.

The plaza zone is free to visit and enjoy and does not need a ticket, however, tickets for the train are not sold on-site.

Complimentary admission is offered for guests in wheelchairs and support persons accompanying guests with disabilities. Accessible tickets must be booked in advance of the general sale by calling 1-844-307-7469 on September 25, from 9 to 11 a.m.
