A beloved holiday festival in Metro Vancouver promises to dazzle locals with an immersive, twinkling lights display and an array of festive exhibits starting this fall.
The Surrey Holiday Lights festival kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 25 in the Surrey Civic Plaza and features exhibits that will include the animatronic Woodward’s window “Santa and His Elves” thanks to Canada Place, plus the Gingerbread Village, Holiday Market, and the North Pole Stage featuring The Christmas Musical starring Mrs. Claus.
Event organizers say there will be a canopy of twinkly lights overhead, plus photo opportunities throughout the site. Santa Claus will also make appearances throughout December, and photos with the jolly man in red are free of charge.
The Outdoor Snowflake Stage will be situated beside the city's majestic 60-foot-tall Christmas tree, accompanied by a tunnel of Light, reindeer, polar bears, and other stunning illuminated features.
When hunger strikes, Enchanted Eats will provide food trucks and the Polar Bar will serve up savoury eats, treats, and gourmet hot chocolate and coffee, with the option to add Forty Creek Cream for some extra warmth on chilly nights.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, Nov. 5. The first 1,000 tickets sold will save 40 per cent.
