Uptown Live, seen here in 2022, returns to New Westminster on July 27.

The Funk Hunters are headlining the main stage at Uptown Live 2024.

Side One, Sambacouver and Andrew Allen are other artists who are set to perform on the main stage at the free street music festival in July.

“We have multiple stages throughout the festival grounds with live music all evening long,” said Bart Slotman, the Uptown Business Association’s board president. “We are thrilled with this line-up, and we can’t wait!”

The Uptown Business Association is once again hosting Uptown Live, now in its 13th year.

Uptown Live takes place in uptown New Westminter, in the around the Sixth Avenue and Sixth Street intersection on Saturday, July 27. It runs from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

Phil-Bo, Jodie B, Ben Parker & Phoenix Laurén, Leo D.E Johnson, and John Welsh will be performing on the Plaza Stage. DJ A-Slam will be playing themed sets on the DJ Stage, including one for all the Swifties.

The full schedule of performances, as well as musician bios, are available online.

In addition to live music from local musicians, Uptown Live features dance performances, interactive community exhibits, a vendor market featuring local businesses and artisans, food trucks, craft beverages, and more. Battlezone Vancouver will also be making an appearance.

In a news release, Slotman said the Uptown Business Association has hired a new event management company, Mind Over Mountain Event Co., to oversee the production of this year’s street festival.

“We are shaking things up this year,” he said.

Slotman said this year’s Uptown Live features an incredible line-up of music and entertainment that’s sure to keep the crowd on their feet all evening long.

According to organizers, Uptown Live is New Westminster’s biggest street festival. It’s presented by TD Bank Group; Douglas College and Starlight Casino are sponsoring the two stages.

“We look forward to welcoming New West and our neighbours from across the Lower Mainland to this fabulous street music festival,” Slotman said. “It’s an opportunity to bring everyone together.”
