Katie’s Place is a volunteer-run no-kill animal shelter in Maple Ridge. Two principals guide them: all life is valuable, and we are responsible for improving the quality of life for all those in our care.They make no judgment on whose life is worth rescuing; the sick, elderly and homely are as precious as the healthy, young and attractive. |
TYSON
When Tyson initially came to Katie`s Place he was unsure and somewhat wary of his surroundings. Now that he is out and about in his communal room he is showing that he is a sweet guy who enjoys attention and chin scratches. If you are the type of person who is attracted to Scottish Folds or other cats with interesting and unusual ear-shapes, you may find you have a special liking for Tyson. He`s the type of cat we refer to as a 'Shelter Fold' because of past ear hematoma. He's healthy and has an adorable quirky look.
MARLOWE
Marlowe is a beautiful boy who probably spent the entire two years of his life in the same home with the same people until he became a stray and wound up in a shelter. With time and patience, Marlowe has come to see that shelter volunteers are not as scary as he once thought and will allow them to pet him much more than he used to. Marlowe will still give little warning growls if he feels they're paying too much attention to him, though this is happening less and less. Katie's place is sure when Marlowe is back in a home and out of this extremely stressful environment he'll be a happy, calm, loving boy once more. Because Marlowe can get overwhelmed, he should not go to a home with small children or dogs, but other cats would be okay.
ANNA
Anna is a statuesque torti who was adopted from another shelter and was then discovered to be diabetic. The elderly owner was unable to deal with diabetes, the other shelter couldn't take her back, therefore Anna came to Katie's Place. Anna is a friendly, sociable girl - come and see if she's the one who will steal your heart!
