Who doesn't love adorable animals?
Though there are many places around Vancouver where non-pet-owners can play with cute animals, this event is an opportunity for animal lovers to play with and help rescued animals.
The BC SPCA is hosting a giant Cuddle Lounge (their biggest one yet) with rescue puppies, kittens, and other animals, plus an auction and dinner as part of its Offleashed gala fundraiser.
Offleashed will take place on Oct. 15 at the JW Marriot Parq Vancouver.
Though the tickets are pricey, they go towards a good cause. Each individual ticket covers the cost of one day of shelter, food, and basic medical attention for an abandoned mother and her young litter of puppies and kittens.
Purchasing a table, however, covers the cost of surgery, prescriptions and rehabilitation for an animal in desperate need of emergency medical care.
"If we could hold this event for free, we would, but animals at risk in B.C. need our financial help to survive," explains the event website. "We want you to feel the real change you make happen."
Tickets include access to the Cuddle Lounge, beverages, and a three-course dinner. As well, there will be lint rollers on-site for after your animal cuddle session.
