Vancouver protesters and supporters have been rallying in solidarity with Iran for many months.
Protests began in September, shortly after the news of Mahsa Amini's death sparked unrest in Iran and demonstrations around the world, and locals have gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery each weekend to rally.
The local Persian community and supporters held many moving demonstrations, such as forming a human chain across the Lions Gate Bridge, building a wall of human hair, and holding a candlelight vigil.
To mark 120 days of protests, a local art gallery is exhibiting an artistic demonstration.
The project, named "120 Days with Woman, Life, Freedom," is a collection of protest art in various forms, from illustrations and paintings to prints and short videos. The artworks have been made by hundreds of artists from around the world since Mahsa Amini's death on Sept. 16.
The exhibit also documents the history of the movement and suggests resources and ways to support it.
Additionally, there is a space for visitors to voice their opinions, thoughts, and feelings regarding the movement through painting, drawing, writing, and other artistic mediums.
The demonstration is held at the RBC Media Gallery at Emily Carr University and runs Jan. 6 to 17.
