The Great Grandview Garage Sale is back on June 15, 2024. It's the largest event of its kind in Vancouver.

Tired of buying clothes from a shopping mall? This neighbourhood-wide garage sale is your chance to shop for some unique and pre-loved goods to fill your house.

With participation open to all residents of the Grandview Woodland neighbourhood, the Great Grandview Garage Sale provides locals with the opportunity to sell their items. And it is also an opportunity for everyone else to have a good time turning other people’s trash into treasure.

“East Vancouver homes are full of great stuff. Crates of records, dressers overflowing with vintage clothes, toys and books falling off of shelves,” explain organizers on the event page.

“A great garage sale for a great neighbourhood," is the event's tagline.

On June 15, residents of the neighbourhood will display their goods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine. The garage sale is open to anyone for shopping.

In 2022, over 125 participants sold their old goods in their front yards and sidewalks, and there were over 200 sellers in 2023.

How can residents participate in the sale?

  1. Sign up on the Great Grandview Garage Sale webpage. (It’s free but the organization accepts donations to cover the cost of the event)
  2. Add your sale to the interactive map for the buyers to follow.
  3. Start sorting through your old things now.
  4. Lay a blanket on your front lawn, put a table on your sidewalk, or just roll up the garage door and start selling!
  5. Spread the word on Facebook or other platforms because the more the merrier.

Where can I find a bargain?

  1. As a shopper, the event organiser created an interactive map that indicates all the sellers in the hood
  2. Go early and start hunting!
