After a year-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vancouver Christmas Market is returning to transform downtown into a winter wonderland once again.
The announcement of the German-style market’s return was made on the event’s website stating the market would run from Nov. 13 to Dec. 24 at its usual location at Jack Poole Plaza. The market is set to many of its classic attractions like its neon carousel, the walk-in Christmas tree and the Lover’s Lane and Love Lock installation.
“This year’s Christmas Market is bigger and better than ever, with new vendors, special promotions, and incredible giveaways to make things especially merry and bright,” the website states.
With the market's return comes a litany of COVID-19 precautions to allow the event to go ahead. Along with mandatory mask wearing, proof of vaccination and temperature checks are required upon entry, guests are also encouraged to book their visit online. Distancing precautions will also be put in place at entrances and line ups for food and drinks.
