Volume 124: Homer St. Cafe and Bar's grand opening party in Yaletown on June 26, 2013. More photos available on Flickr and Tumblr.
If you frequent the area between Robson Street and Yaletown, you've no doubt passed by and noticed the extensive first floor renovations at Homer and Smithe and what is now the neighbourhood's newest upscale brasserie and rotisserie style bar bistro hybrid joint. And yes, that certainly is a gravy fondue fountain you see (above to the right).
From the team behind Tableau Bar Bistro and across the street from Subeez, Homer St. Cafe and Bar is a fancifully charming yet cozy and inviting multi-room space with its kitchen/dining area, bar, lounge, and patio. As for the menu, think roasted chicken and lots of it.
They'll be serving some delectable rotisserie cooked chicken wings with a hint of curry flavour among their charcuterie, meats, and cheeses. Part of the cafe's plan is a wine and cocktail program including their tasty spring flowers cocktail (above) made with whisky, lavender infused honey, lemon, and dandelion bitters.
It should be interesting what audience the cafe and bar attracts with fairly limited options in the immediate area full of surrounding apartment and condo dwellers.
Homer Street's newest bar bistro style cafe opens to the public on Tuesday, July 2nd. Be sure to check it out for yourself.
