Weeee-oooo, weee-ooo!
Grab the kids, or get ready to channel your own inner kid, and head down to Granville Island on September 24 when you can check out Vancouver Fire & Rescue's two newest marine units.
VF&R's Fireboat 1 and Fireboat 2 will be on display at the North Docks between 10 am and noon on the 24th, and it's a rare opportunity to get an up close and personal look at this cool fire-fighting vessels that are new to the fleet.
Plus, Vancouver Fire promises there will be some of their partner agencies' vessels on display then, too.
Vancouver has a nearly century-old history of using fireboats. The first fireboat in Vancouver launched in 1928. Called the J.H. Carlisle, it was in service until 1971.
The newest fireboats came into the fleet in 2016 (Fireboat 1) and 2018 (Fireboat 2).
