Vancouver firefighters will be turning up the heat at the launch party of their annual calendar to raise money for charity.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, the Vancouver Firefighter Charities (VFC) invites people to come to the official launch party of the 2023 Hall of Flame Calendar at the D/6 Bar and Lounge at Parq Vancouver.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and will offer locals the chance to get "up close and personal" with 13 firefighters from the Lower Mainland and Kamloops who are featured in the pages of the 2023 calendar.
Each year, professional firefighters volunteer their time to model, while citizen volunteers and VFC representatives "donate their time and expertise to produce the glossy calendar that has raised more than a million dollars for BC charities and local communities," explains a news release.
Pre-sales of the 2023 calendar are now available for $19.99 at the VFC website, but hot-off-the-press copies will also be available to purchase for $9.99 at the launch party, where models will also sign copies for guests.
Calendar proceeds go to the VFC's community support programs and the BC Burn Fund.
“We’re excited to give people a chance to meet and greet the models who make the 36th annual edition of this hotly anticipated calendar a real page-turner,” says Hall of Flame Calendar Coordinator Brandon Kaye. “Our whole team has been hard at work on this project for the past few months and we look forward to throwing a bash that will fan some flames and raise funds for the many charitable programs we are proud to support.”
Beyond the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, proceeds from the 2023 calendar sales and tickets to the launch party will also benefit VFC charitable programs like Snacks for Kids and Lifelines for Seniors that benefit at-risk youth and seniors in communities throughout B.C.
