While the name has changed, tulips will still be the focus of an upcoming flower festival.
Formerly known as the Chilliwack Tulip Festival, the Botanica Tulip Festival is launching this year as a "newly envisioned event," according to a press release from organizers.
The flowery festival is returning to the Pauls family's Fraser Valley farm at 41310 Yale Rd., named Botanica, this spring. While an exact opening date hasn't been set, it's expected to be ready in early April and run until late May.
Over 13 acres there will be 59 different types of tulips; in total 1.5 million bulbs are planted. Pathways will be set up so people don't have to tiptoe through the tulips.
More details about the attractions haven't been released, but organizers promise "delightful surprises." And yes, there will be an area for visitors to pick their own tulips.
