Sunday Porchetta Dinners at The Flying Pig

The Flying Pig has launched a new Sunday Porchetta Dinner feature, available for $21 per person at all three Vancouver locations. Sourced from family-run Geldermans Farm in the Fraser Valley, the premium porchetta is slow roasted on site for four hours to create succulent pork meat with a crispy, crackling skin. Stuffed porchetta will be hand carved and served alongside crackling mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and house-made gravy for a true farm-to-table feast. Available in limited quantities.

Hip Hop Trivia Night at Juke Fried Chicken

Teams of up to six are invited to take part in five rounds of questions on all things Hova, Dre and Wu-Tang with food and drink specials and prizes up for grabs at Juke’s new Hip Hop Trivia Night. Sign up as an individual or a team of up to six via email ([email protected]), Instagram (@jukefriedchicken) or Facebook (/jukefriedchicken) to guarantee a spot. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Shipyards Night Market

The Shipyards Night Market will once again liven up Shipbuilders’ Square in North Vancouver’s lower Lonsdale with over 100 vendors, including food trucks, and a 19+ beer garden. With a “hot food alley” stacked with dozens of food trucks, the Shipyards Night Market is one of the summer’s most delicious pop-up weekend eats destinations. Plus you can sip on craft beer and cider in the beer garden, shop from the many vendor stalls, and enjoy live entertainment.

When: Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m., May 3 to September 27, 2019

Richmond Night Market

Midway games, vendor booths, live entertainment, and an insane amount of food will once again draw crowds at this popular event. The market consistently offers an impressive quantity of options for shopping and eating–they have over 100 food stalls and 200 vendors. But the food is always one of the most exciting parts of the Night Market, so you can expect to find everything from those iconic “tornado potatoes” to grilled meats, bubble waffles, “large” fried chicken, wild beverage concoctions, epic treats, and who knows what else is in store for this year.

When: May 10 to Oct. 14, 2019. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (May 10-Sept. 2): 7 p.m. to midnight; Sundays (After Sep 2) and Stat holidays: 7 to 11 p.m.

80th Anniversary Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Launched May 2 and running through September 1, the 80th Anniversary Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver pays homage to the hotel’s storied past and the culinary treats of its founding era. Classic English scones and raisin-studded scones anchor the tiered tea towers, complete with clotted cream and jam. Contemporary takes on traditional sandwiches hit the savoury mark, while an epic case of desserts hit the sweet spot.

When: Now through Sept. 1. Sittings are held at 11 a.m., and 1 and 3 p.m. daily

West Coast Culinary Experience at PICA

The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) recently launched this immersive exploration of B.C.’s vibrant culinary landscape. Take a guided tour of Granville Island with food and wine experts, then enjoy some delicious food. The experience takes about three hours.

When: Daily from now-Oct. 13. Tours begin at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Lobster Fest at Provence Marinaside

For the entire month of July, you can indulge your crustacean passion as Provence Marinaside presents its annual Lobster Fest Menu.  A collaboration between Executive Chef/Owner Jean-Francis Quaglia and Chef de Cuisine Sheldon Maloff; this special three-course dinner is a bargain at $69. Wine Director Joshua has thoughtfully selected French rosés to complement each dish. This optional wine pairing is available for an additional $31 or as a petit pour for $21.

Tacofino x BETA5 Evening Summer Social

Beloved B.C. brands Tacofino and BETA5 will mark a special summer ice cream collaboration by co-hosting an Evening Summer Social at BETA5. Each guest will receive a Tacofino taco, beer from Strange Fellows Brewing and a Tacofino-inspired Lime-Mint Freshie-Inspired sundae featuring lime and mint shaved ice with avocado ice cream, fresh pineapple, Tajín-spiced churros and condensed milk Chantilly.

Greek Summerfest on Boundary

Enjoy authentic Greek food and live a day the Greek way. Greek Summerfest on Boundary showcases local music and dance groups on their outdoor stage while attendees enjoy the beautiful Vancouver summer season with Greek food and Greek hospitality. 5th of July Bannock Day

Enjoy Indian Tacos, Bannock Dogs, BBQ and more at this fun afternoon of eats hosted by West Coast Bannock. Please note this is cash or e-transfer payment only. Menu items range from $2-9.

Half-price Fried Chicken Sandwiches at Juke

To mark National Fried Chicken Day on July 6, Juke Fried Chicken will have their signature fried chicken sandwiches available for half-price – that’s just $3.25 a pop. Juke builds their epic sandwich around their buttermilk marinated and deep-fried chicken (in a gluten-free batter!) topped with slaw and house-made BBQ sauce. Since this deal is pretty hefty, Juke has capped the per-person sandwich limit at at respectable 10.

La Grotta del Formaggio 40th Anniversary

Opened in 1979 in Vancouver's Little Italy, La Grotta del Formaggio is celebrating their milestone 40th anniversary with a weekend of specials and discounts, and on Car Free Day (July 7) the chance to mingle and sample in their shop.

Silk Road Festival

Sunday Seafood Boil Series at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

The award-winning downtown seafood restaurant continues its popular al fresco Sunday Seafood Boil Series for a fifth consecutive year throughout the summer. Guests are invited to pull up a chair and tuck into a true, East Coast-inspired communal seafood feast of fresh-caught lobster, jumbo prawns, clams, mussels and Dungeness crab piled high on butcher’s paper and served with all the fixings.

SO5 – Steel & Oak 5th birthday party

It’s been five years and over four million glasses of beer since Steel & Oak opened its doors on Third Avenue and Stewardson Way in New Westminster. Steel & Oak will be celebrating with a big party on Sunday, July 7 in the parking lot behind the brewery, from 1 to 6 p.m., with Big Day BBQ, the Down Low Chicken Shack, Big Shucker Oyster Bar and Earnest Ice Cream on site. There will also be kids’ activities, lemonade and a pop-up merch/bottle shop with some Steel & Oak rarities.

13th Annual Toast to the Coast

Toast to the Coast is the annual fundraising gala for Ocean Wise® at the Vancouver Aquarium®. It’s an event where ocean lovers mix and mingle over delicious food and drinks in the company of the fascinating aquatic creatures they are determined to help protect. Guests will relish food prepared by some of B.C.’s best chefs and drinks in plentiful supply as they catch up with colleagues and friends, take part in a raffle and a silent auction, meet some of the Aquarium’s best-loved residents, including the Steller sea lions and the sea otters, and wind down the night dancing up a rainstorm at the after-party with DJ NAT.

Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl

The Eastside Culture Crawl is proud to announce that their Fourth Annual Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl fundraiser & tour will be held on Sunday, July 14. The Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl takes art lovers on a cycling or walking tour of the Eastside community making tasting stops at four breweries, most of which are exhibiting art as well. This tour is an amazing and incredibly fun opportunity for attendees to really take in all of the amazing elements of our great neighbourhood from art to beer! Ticket-holders tour 3 of 9 breweries, then the event wraps up at Strange Fellows at 4 p.m. where participants will enjoy a full art exhibit and light food. A tasting flight or pint is included at all 4 stops.

Community Backyard BBQ at Ubuntu Canteen

Organic, family focused café and counter-service restaurant Ubuntu Canteen will host a Community Backyard BBQ on Sunday, July 14 that underscore its mission to cultivate a sense of community in the heart of Vancouver’s Fraserhood and beyond. Ubuntu will fire up the grill, and will feature cocktails, local craft beer and A Sunday in August wine, while local DJs provide the perfect summer soundtrack.

Origo Club  One-Year Anniversary Dinner Menu

Origo Club is celebrating one-year anniversary by offering a signature French-inspired table d’hôte menu by Chefs David Pan and Tony Hua, wine pairings by Sommelier Melanie Gravel. This menu is available from July 16-20 for dinner only. Reservations are highly recommended.

UBC’s 6th Annual Chef Challenge

UBC's most exciting culinary showdown is back, and they need you to decide which team will bring home this year's trophy. Featuring UBC's very own culinary and musical talents, come fill up on delicious tasting plates and craft brews before dancing the night away to some samba, bossa nova, and more. Your 2019 competitors are: Bao Down, Nest Catering, Sage Bistro, UBC Food Services Apprentice Team, and Virtuous Pie. Tickets include entry, local food, craft beer samples, and live music. Children's tickets include entry and a healthy kids meal.

11th annual Deighton Cup

In what has become a Vancouver summertime tradition, the 11th Annual Deighton Cup, presented by the Parade Agency and The Social Concierge, will delight and inspire guests with an array of new attractions as well as a host of time-honoured traditions for a full day of fun, fashion, and derby-style excitement - plus delicious food and drink. Toast to the good life!

Railtown Tailgate BBQ

Get your appetites ready, because the Tailgate Barbecue Series is making a comeback at the original Railtown location one Sunday a month throughout the summer. Railtown chefs and co-owners Dan Olson and Tyler Day will once again roll out a custom-built, 12-foot barbecue barrel for the highly anticipated food events, where barbecue-lovers will be able to chow down on perfectly smoked meats and flavourful sides.

Tacofino x Four Winds Brewing Dinner

Tacofino will host the final event in its 2019 Beer Dinner Series at its Hastings location by collaborating with Delta's Four Winds Brewing Company on Thursday, July 25 at either 6 or 8:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a custom, five-course menu paired with a range of unique and exclusive beer from the notable local brewery.

Columbia StrEAT Food Festival

Billed as “the largest one-day food truck festival on the continent,” the Downtown New West BIA is urging attendees of the free community event to put on their stretchy pants and head down on July 27, 2019 for an afternoon and evening of eating fun.

Vancouver Vegan Festival

A joint effort from The Vegan Project, Peace People Project, Peaces, and Earthsave Canada, the first-ever Vancouver Vegan Festival will be free and all-ages. The waterfront venue will be packed with over 70 vendors showcasing plant-based food and lifestyle items and apparel, and the day will include live music, speakers, and free yoga.
