Shipyards Night Market
The Shipyards Night Market will once again liven up Shipbuilders’ Square in North Vancouver’s lower Lonsdale with over 100 vendors, including food trucks, and a 19+ beer garden. With a “hot food alley” stacked with dozens of food trucks, the Shipyards Night Market is one of the summer’s most delicious pop-up weekend eats destinations. Plus you can sip on craft beer and cider in the beer garden, shop from the many vendor stalls, and enjoy live entertainment.
When: Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m., May 3 to September 27, 2019

Richmond Night Market
Midway games, vendor booths, live entertainment, and an insane amount of food will once again draw crowds at this popular event. The market consistently offers an impressive quantity of options for shopping and eating–they have over 100 food stalls and 200 vendors. But the food is always one of the most exciting parts of the Night Market, so you can expect to find everything from those iconic “tornado potatoes” to grilled meats, bubble waffles, “large” fried chicken, wild beverage concoctions, epic treats, and who knows what else is in store for this year.

Sunday Porchetta Dinners at The Flying Pig
The Flying Pig has launched a new Sunday Porchetta Dinner feature, available for $21 per person at all three Vancouver locations. Sourced from family-run Geldermans Farm in the Fraser Valley, the premium porchetta is slow roasted on site for four hours to create succulent pork meat with a crispy, crackling skin. Stuffed porchetta will be hand carved and served alongside crackling mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and house-made gravy for a true farm-to-table feast. Available in limited quantities.

80th Anniversary Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Launched May 2 and running through September 1, the 80th Anniversary Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver pays homage to the hotel’s storied past and the culinary treats of its founding era. Classic English scones and raisin-studded scones anchor the tiered tea towers, complete with clotted cream and jam. Contemporary takes on traditional sandwiches hit the savoury mark, while an epic case of desserts hit the sweet spot.
When: Now through Sept. 1. Sittings are held at 11 a.m., and 1 and 3 p.m. daily

Hip Hop Trivia Night at Juke Fried Chicken
Teams of up to six are invited to take part in five rounds of questions on all things Hova, Dre and Wu-Tang with food and drink specials and prizes up for grabs at Juke's new Hip Hop Trivia Night. Sign up as an individual or a team of up to six via email ([email protected]), Instagram (@jukefriedchicken) or Facebook (/jukefriedchicken) to guarantee a spot. Walk-ins are also welcome.

West Coast Culinary Experience at PICA
The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) recently launched this immersive exploration of B.C.'s vibrant culinary landscape. Take a guided tour of Granville Island with food and wine experts, then enjoy some delicious food. The experience takes about three hours.
When: Daily from now-Oct. 13. Tours begin at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

B.C. Spot Prawn Longboard Lunch at Fairmont Pacific Rim
To honour the small but mighty delicious spot prawn, the Lobby Lounge and RawBar at the Fairmont Pacific Rim is launching an epic longboard sushi and seafood feast. Available weekends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. only starting May 18, and only during spot prawn season, the sushi bar will serve up this limited edition lunch for groups of two or more by reservation, served on an impressive longboard.

JUNE EVENTS
Vancouver Craft Beer Week - City-Wide Events
Things get rolling in May for the 10th annual VCBW, and include everything from the big kick-off party on May 31 to tap takeovers, tastings, dinner, and so much more during the event's two-week run. While there's the weekend festival tasting (see below) you can also choose your own beer-venture from a staggering array of gatherings happening around the city.

The Wiener Bar hot dog and champagne pop-up
In honour of Grower Champagne Month, on June 1 TWB – The Wine Bar will morph into The Wiener Bar for an evening of high-end hot dogs and beautiful French Champagnes. For The Wiener Bar, TWB will offer three specials, all available while supplies last, with each one served with a three-ounce pour of a carefully-selected Champagne for $30.

Spring ‘Field and Forest’ Menu at Wildebeest
This spring, Wildebeest underscores its philosophy of working closely with local farms, foragers and providers by offering a spring ‘Field and Forest’ Menu available June 3 to 17. You'll find dishes like Foxglove Farm asparagus, smoked Yarrow Meadows duck, Peace Country lamb shank, rabbit rigatoni and a ‘Grand Fir’ dessert. Plus, bar manager Alex Black will shake up a ‘How to Dougie’ cocktail mingling Douglas fir-infused Resurrection Spirits White Rye, Dry Vermouth, foraged Flowering Currant Cordial, Maraschino Liqueur and Herbal Bitters. The 2019 Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival
Featuring a line-up of regional food truck fan favourites, the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival has been serving up tasty eats on four wheels since 2014. Each installation features 20-plus hand-picked food trucks and carts, family activities, an artisan pop-up market, and live entertainment. Admission is free – you just pay for what you eat.

Vegan Night Market
The Vegan Night Market is back with their first summer edition. They're taking over the outdoor patio at the Waldorf to bring you live music, views, games, twinkle lights and food...lots and lots of vegan eats.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival
Celebrating 10 years of craft beer and craft beer culture, the most anticipated craft beer and cider festival in Western Canada returns to the PNE Fairgrounds for a full weekend of live music, food, art, craft beer and cider, games and good times.
When: Saturday, June 8 from 2 to 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 9 from noon to 5 p.m.

Italian Day on The Drive
Commercial Drive will be transformed into a lively 14 block festa on the second week of June for the annual Italian Day festival. Over 120 street participants, comprised of partners, vendors, and community organizations, will partake in the festivities. There will be an array of delectable foods and beverages to sample. Live music will play throughout the day; from donuts to cannoli, pasta to gelato, there’ll be endless foods to sample as visitors make their way down the Drive.

Farm to Bottle Sake Tasting Dinner with Nakashima Sake Brewery at Ubuntu Canteen
Ubuntu Canteen and That’s Life Gourmet will showcase Nakashima Sake Brewery in the latest edition of its ongoing Farm-to-Table, Farm-to-Bottle Dinner Series. Guests will have an opportunity to taste six ‘Kozaemon’-label sakes from the artisan brewery that dates back to the 1700s, including a special gold medal Junmai Daiginjo that is limited to 10 bottles in the world as well as newly arrived Kozaemon Daiginjo that is brewed with local table rice instead of sake rice.

Di Beppe Patio Launch Party
Raise a glass and toast the start of patio season when Di Beppe, Gastown's Italian caffè-all-day, ristorante-by-night, officially opens its Carrall Street patio section for the summer months by hosting a Patio Launch Party. During the event, guests can enjoy half-price spritzes and complimentary chicchetti (small bites) prepared by Chef Andrew Morales.

Kozaemon Sake dinner at Yuwa
Yuwa Sommelier and Co-Owner Iori Kataoka will welcome That’s Life Gourmet’s Mariko Taijiri and Mr. Munetaka Nakashima from Nakashima Jozo. The dinner includes all sake pairings and a multi-course feast featuring Executive Chef Masahiro Omori’s signature take on traditional Japanese cuisine

Fayuca's Yaletown Anniversary/Closing Party
As they mark their two-year anniversary serving up contemporary “North Pacific Mexican” cuisine in Vancouver’s Yaletown, the team behind Fayuca are prepping to close up and move on. They’ll be wrapping things up in the 3,500-square-foot space with a party on June 12 before a planned fall debut in Mount Pleasant. If you want to help them celebrate the end of the chapter in Yaletown, you’ll need to RSVP for the event online.

Enjoy a longtable feast right on the farm in this third installation of the Half A Dozen Dinner Series. Michelin on the Road™ dinner at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar
Award-winning downtown Vancouver restaurant Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar will host an exclusive Michelin on the Road™ dinner that pairs the culinary talents of its Executive Chef Roger Ma with Melissa Rodriguez, Chef/Partner of New York City’s Michelin-starred Del Posto the celebrated Italian enclave which she co-owns with acclaimed restaurateurs Lidia and Joe Bastianich. The one-night-only event features a cocktail-and-canapé reception and six-course collaborative menu along with wine pairings by Jackson Family Wines.

Tacofino will continue pairing its beloved Baja-by-way-of-West-Coast cuisine with the best of BC’s craft beer community when it hosts another event in its monthly Beer Dinner Series at its Hastings location by collaborating with Vancouver’s Strange Fellows Brewing. Guests can opt for seatings at either 6 or 8:30 p.m. and enjoy a custom, five-course menu paired with a range of unique and exclusive beer from the notable local brewery.
