"Malcolm in the Middle" star Frankie Muniz shared a video with his son in Vancouver on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

One of TV's most popular faces shared a video with his young son after landing in Vancouver this weekend.

American actor Frankie Muniz, who famously starred as Malcolm in the "life isn't fair" early-to-mid-2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, arrived in Vancouver on Saturday, April 12.

The popular actor was previously in Bristol, Australia, competing in a car race. In a post on Instagram, he contemplated competing in NASCAR races, including placing in the top 10 at the Daytona 500 in Florida and an "unfortunate mechanical issue at Martinsville."

In his latest post, Muniz and his son talk about landing the city ahead of the first day of shooting on the Malcolm in the Middle reboot.

Malcolm in the Middle was slated to begin shooting on April 13 at Vancouver Film Studios at 3500 Cornett Rd., according to Creative BC's latest local production list.

"I just landed back in Vancouver, British Columbia. I had a race last night," he remarks in the video. "I have so much I want to talk about...so many things that happened in the last week...so many emotions."

Muniz adds in the caption that @hairclub will be doing his hair for the set and remarks in the video that he's excited for a haircut.

The actor adds that he is "just so happy to be with my son" in the video, eliciting a chorus of giggles from the young child.

Malcolm in the Middle reboot to feature several stars from the original cast

Most of the show's original cast will join Muniz for the reboot, including Jane Kaczmarek, reprising her role as Lois, Justin Berfield as Reese, and, of course, two-time Golden Globe and six-time Emmy Award-winner Bryan Cranston as Hal.

The upcoming revival is set to follow Malcolm's return, alongside his daughter, to his childhood home to celebrate his parents' 40th wedding anniversary.

The show aired on Fox in 2006 and won seven Emmy awards. It currently streams on Hulu and Disney+.

Filming is expected to run until May 15 at various locations in Vancouver.
