Vancouver's police horses are getting friendship bracelets for the Eras Tour

Some are being sent by other police horses (and their riders)

Vancouver Police Department horses have got some friendship bracelets (or necklaces in this case) in advance of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour coming to BC Place Dec. 6, 7, and 8 2024.

The humans of Vancouver are not the only ones in their Taylor Swift and friendship bracelets era.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) horses of the mounted unit are also participating.

Some colourful horse-sized friendship bracelets have been created for VPD horses to wear around their necks.

A few horses have already been decked out with bracelets made here, but, in the spirit of trading friendship bracelets, there are also special Swift-themed beaded necklaces coming from Toronto.

"We may be miles apart, but as friends, we are just around the corner," reads a tweet from the Toronto Police Mounted Unit.

In a video shared on X/Twitter, Toronto police horses Bunny and Blue Jay give up their beads to be sent to Vancouver.

VPD Sgt. Steve Addison says those special horse friendship bracelets are on their way to Vancouver but they haven't arrived yet.

Those hoping to see the VPD horses in their beads won't have to stray far from the Eras Tour home at BC Place. Addison confirms police horses will be deployed around the stadium area.

And for those looking to take photos with the horses, he says it's okay to do so, as long as people ask the rider first.

"Our horses are experienced horses with experienced riders," says Addison. "They work in crowds. They're part of our public safety unit or our crowd control. So absolutely, it's safe to approach the horses."

"It's always just best to have a conversation with the police officer first," he adds.
