Here's (an idea of) when you can buy tickets for FIFA 2026 games in Vancouver

BC Place will host seven matches for the Men's World Cup, including two in the knockout stage and two featuring Canada.

Vancouver soccer fans, as well as those across B.C., now know when they can buy tickets for the 2026 World Cup.

Or at least, an idea of when they can start exercising their clicker fingers.

"Late 2025" is the window FIFA recently unveiled for when fans around the world can purchase tickets for the men's tournament next year.

This includes the seven matches at BC Place, two of which are during the knockout stage of what is set to be the "biggest single-sporting event ever."

Tuesday, Jan. 28, officially marked 500 days until the World Cup begins.

While there's no formal site for ticket sales as of yet, FIFA encourages interested fans to pre-register on its website.

Those who sign up will receive a confirmation email promising updates closer to the "late 2025" window.

As well, FIFA 26 Vancouver's social media channels recently posted a teaser of volunteer opportunities at the World Cup, noting registration will also open "later this year."

Destination BC said it's important to unite the province's soccer community with each announcement and countdown milestone.

"We want to see the whole of British Columbia embracing the energy and excitement of the 2026 World Cup," the organization said in a release sent to V.I.A.

"Whether you're a lifelong football fan or new to the game, now is the time to come together and celebrate the global event coming to our doorstep."

'A key role'

BC Place has a capacity of 54,500. The multi-purpose facility held a total of 53,341 fans for the 2015 Women's World Cup Final — the biggest international soccer match it has hosted to date.

Its record capacity was 65,061 for Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour on Sept. 2, 2023.

Destination BC touted that Vancouver will "play a key role" in the "historic tournament."

The 2026 World Cup will feature an expanded slate of 48 countries with hosts Canada, Mexico and the U.S. earning automatic berths. There will be a grand total of 104 games in 16 cities.

Vancouver was the first host city unveiled during FIFA's streaming special in June 2022. BC Place will host five group stage matches, plus one in the Round of 32 and one in the Round of 16.

Canada's men's national team are scheduled to play two preliminary games in Vancouver: June 18 and 24, 2026. Their opponents will be drawn in the months leading up to the tournament.

Toronto, the only other Canadian host city, will house six matches, including one in the Round of 32. The final will be played in New York/New Jersey on July 19, 2026.
