Fans of ancient terrible lizards will be able to get up close to some moving, life-sized dinosaurs this May.
Jurassic Quest will stomp into town May 13, bringing with it family fun for those who don't fear a freewheeling velociraptor.
Vancouver and Abbotsford's convention centres are both slated to be visited by the travelling dino-show.
Among the attractions are life-like dinosaurs, dinosaur rides and dinosaur shows, along with science and art activities. For those that went to the 2019 show, there will be new things, like new dinosaurs in the "herd" and a "Triceritots" space for the littlest paleontologists.
"New for 2022, join us for The Quest, our official educational and entertaining journey through the Jurassic," state organizers. "The Quest is an interactive adventure where guests will meet dinos and prehistoric sea creatures, take a unique Dino Snap, search for fossils, watch a live Raptor Training Experience and more."
The exhibit will have Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic areas (the three geological periods dinosaurs wandered around during) and an Ancient Oceans exhibit with a 50-foot-long moving Megalodon.
"Jurassic Quest works in collaboration with leading paleontologists to ensure each dinosaur is painstakingly replicated in every detail, from coloration to teeth size, to textured skin, fur or feathers, drawing on the latest research about how we understand dinosaurs and ancient giants of the sea looked and moved," state organizers.
The exhibit will be at the Vancouver Convention Centre May 13 to 15 and in Abbotsford from May 20 to 23.
Tickets range in price, with kids and adults starting at $27.50 (and subject to change based on demand). Entry times must be selected at the time of ticket purchase.
