Participants don't need to be nude to participate...but most of them will be.

The World Naked Bike Race is a free, annual event in Vancouver that encourages cyclists to ride in the nude. This year's event takes place on July 6.

Vancouver's popular World Naked Bike Ride will see hundreds of cyclists descend on the city's streets in their birthday suits this summer.

Cyclists are invited to meet at noon at Sunset Beach, Beach Avenue, and Bute Street, for body painting before the ride on Saturday, July 6.

The sans-clothing ride kicks off at 2 p.m. and the clothing-optional rights group, the Naked Iconoclasts Fighting The Yoke (NIFTY), will host a celebratory picnic after the event.

The World Naked Bike Race originated in Vancouver and takes place annually, providing bold cyclists with an opportunity to shed their clothing with like-minded folks on a relaxing ride through the city.

In previous years, participants were encouraged to get creative with their attire - or lack thereof - and wear flashy costumes, cosplay, or bright body paint. Many people cover their bike seats with fake fur.

While they might not have any other clothing on, cyclists are encouraged to wear shoes and helmets are mandatory. They should also keep clothing with them because they will need it after the ride.

Participants don't need to be nude to participate.

Fetish gear is not permitted.
