The lattes and macchiatos have left the building: A former East Vancouver Starbucks has been transformed into a new cocktail bar called The Blind Rabbit, specializing in tequila and gin drinks.
Located at 2531 East Hastings Street in Vancouver's East Village area, Blind Rabbit opened this spring and is the newest member of a family of food and drink spots co-owned by Nigel Lutz and Rob Clarke - there's The Yard Cafe on Granville and The Brighton, a close neighbour on East Hastings.
In addition to cocktails, Blind Rabbit has a menu of casual bites, featuring things like "The Cure," a sandwich featuring salami and cheese with organic greens grown at UBC farms and mustard.
The Blind Rabbit has been in a "soft opening" phase for the past couple of weeks, with a more official "grand opening" pending, however the bar-restaurant is currently open Sunday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
