Many of Metro Vancouver's best Persian restaurants are located in North Vancouver, which has a large Persian population, while Burnaby has been pretty much a Persian food desert.
Recently, however, things have changed, with the addition of Cazba to the food court at Lougheed Mall.
Persian food is all about that fragrant saffron rice, following by the grilled meats made with fresh herbs. Going to a food court and getting something that isn’t fast food is a welcome addition.
The Burnaby outlet is part of a company of restaurants that include locations in North Vancouver, Vancouver, and Coquitlam. Plans are also in the works for a location in the Amazing Brentwood expansion, which would mean a second Burnaby location for this growing local chain.
Cazba is no slouch - the restaurant has won numerous readers' choice awards.
On the menu are traditional Iranian dishes, such as chicken, beef or lamb kebob, kashk bademjan (eggplant dip), baghali polo (lamb shank with rice), and crispy saffron rice.
You'll find Cazba inside the food court of the Lougheed Mall, as well as at 1103 Davie Street in Vancouver, 132 16th St W in North Vancouver, Capilano Mall in North Vancouver, and at Coquitlam Centre Mall.
