The last dish has been cleared and chairs pushed back from the table, and every vote has been tabulated, and we now know all the winners of the Critics' Choice 2019 Chinese Restaurant Awards in Metro Vancouver.
Now in its 11th year, the Chinese Restaurant Awards aim to celebrate the bounty of Chinese cuisine in Metro Vancouver, and to offer local and visiting diners an approachable way to explore the vast array of dishes, styles, and regional specialties that can be found here.
The awards begin with the Diners' Choice portion, voted on by the eaters of Metro Vancouver. Those results were announced February 25, and included picks for the best of the best for Northern Chinese eats, congee, and baked goods, as well as new 2019 categories for signature dishes such as Cantonese-style Crispy Chicken, Tofu Pudding, and Sichuan Chilli Oil Wonton.
In a ceremony held Tuesday afternoon at the River Rock Casino & Resort in Richmond, the remaining winners - as selected by a panel of industry experts - were revealed, and the honourees celebrated. We've got the list, now it's time for you to choose your next Chinese food-venture.
