While Gastown's Di Beppe has always operated a daytime cafe, with their sit-down restaurant opening up in the evenings, the Italian eatery has just launched lunch service.
It's a welcome addition to the neighbourhood, for sure. Di Beppe's menu of seasonal salads, pizzas, and pastas are fresh and fantastic, great for casual lunch get-togethers, a quick solo bite, or for tourists strolling the historic area.
Cozy up in their brick-walled room with very IG-friendly vintage Italian posters, sip on espresso drinks, some vino, or a negroni, and tuck into their Roman-style fare.
Pizzas, like the funky anchovy and onion or the classic Margherita, can be ordered in a smaller size, or the more impressive al metro, which comes on a long wooden board, with a bubbly, chewy, rectangular crust. Pastas include options like a Cacio e Pepe or a hearty carbonara with generous chunks of crispy guanciale.
Lunch is currently being served at Di Beppe from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays in December, with the possibility of it being made permanent come the new year.
Di Beppe is located at 8 W Cordova in Vancouver's Gastown neighbourhood.
