A pop-up food truck fest that ran a successful Canada Day drive-thru event has turned the tasty experience into a summer series.
The Braid StrEAT Experience takes place on select summer weekend days next to the Braid SkyTrain staion in New Westminster.
Featuring a rotating selection of regional food truck favourites, the event is a complete drive-thru experience in order to maintain physical distancing and other COVID-19 safety measures. That means there will be no walk-ups or bicycles permitted, and payments are credit and debit only - no cash accepted.
The event is produced by West Coast Pop Ups, a collective of small businesses who have operated through the pandemic by either sharing their revenue with other struggling businesses or with charities like the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
The Braid StrEAT Experience is a great alternative for those who have enjoyed hitting up New West's epic Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest, the annual summer event that finds nearly 100 trucks, carts, and vendors set up in the Metro Vancouver city, in past years. Sadly, the 2020 Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest has been cancelled due to COVID-19 and provincial restrictions on large gatherings.
