Two years after opening their first location in Chilliwack, Jo's Italian Deli has opened up a shop in Vancouver.
Specializing in Italian sandwiches and fresh pasta, Jo's opened Feb. 1 at 2505 Alma St. (the former Good Earth Coffeehouse location). Not only is the business family-run, but many of the recipes come from home as well.
"Before Jo's was ever an idea, Jo had made her signature red sauce hundreds of times for her family and friends. The same is true for our meatballs - Jo's mother's, Nani's, creation," states the business' website.
While the new location is essentially the same as the original, the menu has a couple differences; in Vancouver you can try their Spicy Salami sandwich or Rose pasta, neither of which are available (yet) in Chilliwack. However, the 'LunchBox' combo is only in the 'Wack.
'Team Jo' (as they refer to themselves) is hoping their focus on Italian staples will be the big draw.
"Our growing team's goal is to continue serving these same staple foods to a growing number of guests and friends in a casual, convenient, and friendly space," they state on their site.
Along with the fresh-cooked food, a small grocery section is attached as well, with imported items.
Dine-in or pick-up is available in Kitsilano right now; Doordash, Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats for delivery are all planned for the coming weeks.
