A new spot for coffee and food is opening soon in Vancouver, featuring an eco-friendly and plant-based approach to eating and dining.
Kind Cafe is set to launch soon on Main Street in Mount Pleasant. They'll be offering a vegan menu and an eating experienced focused on both sustainability and kindness.
Among the more mindful practices Kind Cafe plans to espouse include sourcing second-hand dishware and asking customers to bring their own containers and tumblers in to cut down on waste.
On a recent Instagram story, Kind Cafe's operator also was asking for old cloths as donations which will be used in place of disposable napkins - the goal is to not have anything disposable in use at the cafe at all.
"Our mission is to to create a kinder cafe experience within our community through plant-based nutrition, eco-friendly resources, and supporting local suppliers," elaborates Kind Cafe on their website.
While Kind Cafe appears to be on the hunt for staff, including kitchen positions for plant-based cooking and baking, they have teased online some house-made treats like vegan Babka, cinnamon buns, and tahini chocolate chip cookies, as well as savoury eats like toast heaped with a carrot "lox."
The theme of Kind Cafe is, of course, kindness, which they articulate as being reflected in kindness to our bodies, the planet, and the community.
Kind Cafe says they're aiming for a July opening, however no date has been set. Follow them on Instagram @kindcafeyvr for updates.
Kind Cafe will be located at 3080 Main Street in Vancouver.
