Korean BBQ restaurant adding second Vancouver location

They've been feeding hungry diners for years on Kingsway, now they're adding an outpost across town.

Chosun Korean BBQ has been feeding diners on Kingsway for several years now, and this fall the restaurant will expand its reach to the other side of town. The KBBQ spot is adding a second location in the West End at 793 Jervis St.

With signage up outside the restaurant pointing to an opening this month, Chosun's Jervis restaurant will take the place of previous tenant Miss Korea BBQ, which opened up in the space back in 2019. Prior to that, the address was the longtime home of Japanese BBQ spot Yakinikuya.

Chosun has garnered mixed reviews on various platforms, with some guests raving about the food and experience, and others a little disappointed. Many diners appreciate the restaurant's well-priced combos and note Chosun can be very busy at peak times, particularly lunch.

The menu includes an array of meats guests can cook up themselves on the table-top grills, offered a la carte or in combos, all with standard sides (banchan). Popular other dishes include bibimbap (rice bowls) and spicy cold noodles, seafood pancake, and seafood tofu soup. Chosun also offers a number of hot pot dishes, like Budae Jeongol (with sausage, ham, and ramen), as well as sushi and sashimi, and assorted appetizers.

The West End location of Chosun Korean BBQ is projecting an early September opening.
