You'll soon have more options for where to grab one of Meat & Bread's signature sandwiches, as the Vancouver-based eatery plans a franchised expansion locally, and in Toronto.
Known for their hand-carved porchetta (pork roast) sandwich, as well as their rotating specials, Meat & Bread began their modest empire with their original Cambie location on the edge of Gastown. They've since expanded to add a second downtown Vancouver location, on Pender, as well as outposts in Calgary and Seattle. A Victoria location closed in early 2017, after about two years.
Now Meat & Bread has not only opened a "test kitchen" location in Abbotsford, but also is opening up franchise opportunities for partners, with five Vancouver-area locations in the works, as well as three in Toronto, and one in London, Ontario.
The first of the locations is actually close to completion. Meat & Bread will be opening later this fall at 625 Robson Street, in a space previously occupied by The Candy Aisle. Signage on the windows indicates a planned November 2018 opening (though we all know those dates tend to be ballparks).
Meat & Bread is also planning to open at an undisclosed address on Broadway in Vancouver, with the intent of adding Yaletown, Olympic Village, and Metrotown-area locations.
NOV. 15 - UPDATE: Meat & Bread has officially opened their Robson St. location. They're open 11am-9pm daily.
