An expansion at Langley's popular Willowbrook Shopping Centre means several new food options - including another Metro Vancouver location of a huge all-day brunch restaurant - and the project breaks ground this month.
Called "The Courtyard," the development will bring an additional 27,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor space to the mall. The Courtyard will include an entertainment area and nearly a dozen new food and drink businesses.
Several restaurants have already signed on, including the Alberta-based OEB Breakfast Co, a breakfast-centric restaurant that has opened locations already in the region in Vancouver's Yaletown and at the Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby. Also on board is a familiar Vancouver name: Glowbal Group's Trattoria Italian Kitchen concept.
The Courtyard will have AO Ramen, featuring upscale Japanese dining and a teppanyaki bar; mall staple Chachi's for sandwiches; and a Good Taco.
Design elements of the expansion include a water feature and fire pit, with lounge areas designed for casual hang-outs or enjoying entertainment and events.
The expansion at Willowbrook is slated to open in summer 2022.
Willowbrook Shopping Centre opened in 1979 and is now home to 140 retailers. Current food options at the mall are heavily concentrated in the big global chain sector, like Subway, Starbucks, and KFC.
