When it comes to catching some sports action and grabbing some drinks and a bite, Vancouver's sports bars handily have hockey, soccer, and football fans covered. Now, for those in search of a hangout to watch box futbol or off-road racing, there's a brand-new spot that's just opened.
Baja Racing, located at 3364 Cambie St, opened up in early June, and takes the place of what had previously been Indian Junction Bar & Grill restaurant in Cambie Village.
With multi-coloured signs and a massive banner touting its offerings of food - tacos, mariscos (seafood), and hot dogs - and sports action - futbol, UFC, and more - Baja Racing will likely fill a void for many in Vancouver.
When it comes to food, Baja Racing has a menu of casual Mexican fare, with an emphasis on seafood, so you'll find a mix of dishes like ceviche, fish or meat tacos, and loaded baked potatoes, as well as nachos, burgers, and hot dogs prepared from a cart positioned at the very front facing the sidewalk; follow your nose and the scent of grilled onions.
Baja Racing is open Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 2 a.m., Sundays and Tuesdays through Thursdays from noon to midnight. They are closed Mondays.
The sports bar does not appear to have a website or social media, so you'll have to stop by to see what they're up to.
