UPDATE 3/28/22: Mister opened its second Vancouver ice cream shop on March 25. Read more about it HERE.
Just in time for sunny summer days, a popular Yaletown ice cream shop plans to open a second outpost, this time in Kitsilano.
Mister is opening a new shop at 1835 West 1st Avenue (in the former Shift Shakes spot) and will offer its artisanal ice cream sandwiches, pints, and dipped bars for carry-out.
The ice cream shop, which debuted several years ago in Yaletown, is known for using liquid nitrogen to create its original flavours. The treat shop is also beloved for its Instagram-worthy (and tasty!) treats made using their ice creams, including many popular collaborations with other Vancouver restaurants and businesses.
At just 400-square-feet, the West 1st Avenue storefront is on the smaller side, so customers won't be able to watch the ice cream being made like in the original shop, but the Mister Ice Cream Bar will still have all the same offerings made with scratch-made components and natural ingredients.
A sweet bonus: Mister will offer flavours unique to the new Kits location, too.
Opening a second location is "something we’ve wanted to do for some time now, and we can’t think of a better neighbourhood to be a part of - alongside some of our favourite restaurants, such as AnnaLena and Oddfish," said Tommy Choi, who co-owns Mister with Michael Lai, in a media release.
Mister is aiming to open sometime this summer.
