New bakery cafe opens in former downtown Vancouver bubble tea and donut spot

Pressato is offering European style baked goods and sandwiches on Robson

Pressato is a new bakery cafe that's opened up in downtown Vancouver.

A new bakery and cafe promises to bring Europe closer to downtown Vancouver.

Pressato opened up less than a week ago at 386 Robson St., the former home of bubble tea and mochi donut shop Ikoi Cho (they still have a location at 5712 Tyne St.).

The new counter-service cafe offers a variety of European-style baked goods, including croissants, cookies, and cake.

However, much of the counter is taken up by a station for making sandwiches using focaccia and Italian deli meats, vegetables, and cheese.

The menu includes sandwiches like the Calabrian Inferno (Spicy soppressata and stracciatella), Marseille (turkey and Brie), and Amalfi (pesto and greens).

The new shop is on a block that already features several restaurants, including a couple of sushi spots, a gelateria, Korean fried chicken, Straight Brooklyn pizza, and the new-ish Dante Italian Sandwich.

Pressato is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
