A new sushi restaurant called Namiya has opened in Vancouver on West Broadway.

Fairview didn't go long without a Sushi restaurant on West Broadway near Hemlock Street.

After Shizenya closed its location at 1333 W Broadway in May, a new occupant has moved in, bringing a very similar menu.

Namiya opened in July, offering sashimi, cones, and rolls, along with other Japanese dishes like chicken karage, beef udon and donburi. And like their predecessor, they advertise healthy options.

"We also offer a lot of healthy choices, such as a variety of salad to go with your balanced diet as well as vegetarian options with organic greens and brown rice," reads a post on Instagram.

They're also inspired by a variety of things; one roll is inspired by One Piece character Nico Robin, while another (vegan) is called the Green Peace Roll.

The new restaurant opens weekdays at 11 a.m. and at noon on weekends. It closes nightly at 9:30 p.m.
