More than a year after Nox, an upscale Italian restaurant, vacated its downtown Vancouver space, a new restaurant is launching in the same spot.
The Sequel has announced it will open soon at The Cardero building at 1575 W Georgia St.
A countdown on the new restaurant's website appears to be ticking down the seconds until 11 a.m., Jan 1, 2025. At the same time, its Instagram says the new kitchen and bar will be opening in December 2024.
A soft opening menu is online, showing a variety of brunch, lunch, and dinner options. Inspired by French and Italian cuisine, dishes include roasted cauliflower steak, beef pappardelle, and wild mushroom risotto, along with more casual items like a salmon burger, pizzas, or house-made lasagna.
Brunch dishes include a variety of eggs Benedict, an English-style breakfast, and lobster scrambled crepes.
The restaurant's website says it'll be open from 8 a.m. to late.
"Nestled among breathtaking tourist attractions, shopping destinations, and a bustling community of offices and condos, our restaurant is set to become a culinary gem in the area," reads a job posting for the incoming restaurant.
The Sequel is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the second restaurant from the team behind The Story Cafe in Richmond, opened in 2020 by Kingsley Ho.
Nox closed down in 2023 after being open for just over a year.
