A charming Kitsilano café focused on vegetarian and vegan food and drinks has recently revealed they will not be re-opening.
Olive + Ruby, which had been in business for three years and was named for the owners' daughters, shared the news Tuesday on social media.
"We have immense gratitude for every person that walked through our door, for every employee who spent their time and effort in our space and for all of the local vendors," writes the business in their farewell post.
While COVID-19 has most certainly forced the hand of many independent Vancouver businesses, Olive + Ruby had been on the market since January 2020.
It is unclear what the future holds at this time for the now-shuttered space at 2839 West Broadway, however fans of Olive + Ruby's casual cafe fare like soups, toats, salads, and pastries, along with beverages like juice, teas, smoothies, and coffies, will not get the chance to properly step inside the cozy, Instagram-friendly space as it was again.
