Police-themed pizza place opens in downtown Vancouver

The "911" theme is in the prices, hours, and even food challenges

911Pizza has opened in downtown Vancouver on Robson Street.

A new pizza shop in downtown Vancouver has opened up offering up not just slices pizza, but breakfasts, sandwiches, and fries.

And all of it leans heavily on its name: 911Pizza.

The restaurant, which opened in early October at 500 Robson St (at Richards Street), has a police badge-styled logo, pizzas named "Sheriff" and "Chief," and many, many references to nine and 11.

The "911" theme applies to the pricing, too: Basic pizzas are $9.11, breakfasts are $9.11, salads are $9.11, and the trend continues through most of the menu.

It goes beyond the prices, though. 911Pizza is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, breakfast is available from 9 to 11 a.m., and there's a deal to get 11 dishes for the price of nine. And they promise the food will be ready between nine and 11 minutes after ordering.

And there are deals on the ninth and 11th of each month.

The restaurant also has a food challenge: eat 11 pizzas in nine minutes and receive a t-shirt and a $250 gift certificate. Reverse it (eat nine pizzas in 11 minutes) and you get a t-shirt and hat.

911Pizza replaces the short-lived sandwich-and-kebab shop Toranj, which opened up in 2023, replacing Bentoya, a Japanese restaurant that closed in March 2023.
