Update: After extensive delays, Yolks on Davie will open on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.
Some egg-cellent news: One of Vancouver's biggest food truck-to-restaurant success stories, Yolks, is growing again.
The business, which launched at the height of the food cart craze in 2012, went bricks-and-mortar for the first time at the very end of 2013.
Though that initial location has since shifted down the street a bit, and Yolks also operates a busy outpost on Broadway at Cambie, Yolks will soon add its third location, edging right up to the West End with a restaurant going in at 988 Davie St.
A rep for Yolks confirmed with V.I.A. that the Davie Street location is slated to open in early May. The restaurant is currently in the hiring stage.
Yolks is still getting all the details sorted for what's in store on the other side of town, but we surely can expect the restaurant's beloved menu of breakfast fare, which focuses on perfectly poached eggs served up in Bennies, bowls, and sandwiches. Don't forget their signature Truffle-Lemon Potatoes on the side. The Yolks menu has also grown substantially over the years, stretching to now feature salads, granola parfaits, milkshakes and more.
Renderings provided by Yolks' rep show a light, bright, sleek and modern interior for the new location.
Both current Yolks locations operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on stat holidays.
