We've already shared the story of Save On Meats with you (a few times!) but I really wanted to take a moment today to point out the incredible work that Mark Brand and his team have done in making the latest incarnation of this Vancouver mainstay a positive one for the Downtown Eastside. They partner with local organizations like SoleFood, UGM and others, they employ folks that live in the DTES, they provide food at an attainable price point... it is basically unquestionable that they serve the neighbourhood, and they serve it well.
